New Year, New Meeeeeeeh.

Just to clarify…New Year, same me.

Has it been months since I posted? Sure has. Am I truly sorry? Sure am.

Anyways WELCOME BACK WELCOME BACK WELCOME BACK! I promise to do my best to keep things going here. So let’s recap a little?

A few things have changed since the last post. For starters….I’m now a homeowner. I know what you’re thinking and I agree adulting is hard but we found a place and fell hard for it.  I got a new job and currently am enjoying what is left of my funemployment. First half wasn’t the best with a sinus infection but second half is looking up! And lastly probably the biggest news of ALL… The Dallas Cowboys are not only 1st in the NFC East, but BOOM we got a first round bye in the playoffs. In Dak we trust.

Thursday Thoughts Pt 2

First off, sorry about my delay. Secondly WELCOME! Today we will touch on a few things I’ve been thinking about over the past couple weeks. And what a more convenient way then to share it on a day that also starts with T. Sure I could’ve picked Tuesday, but I didn’t so chill.

Lets get to it….

Brussel Sprouts

  • Sure you’re all probably like ew what? No thanks. But hear me out. If you had asked me a year ago I would’ve agreed with you. However, that has allllll changed since I started ordering them as a side at restaurants. They are almost always served with bacon and some combo of balsamic or soy glaze (crack) and pan seared. As I’ve stated in the past bacon makes everything good. Except chocolate. I don’t understand bacon and chocolate. Anyways back on track. Once I had these sides at dinner, I thought this can’t be too hard. And it wasn’t. I used some teriyaki sauce and cut up some bacon and threw it all in a saucepan. I had used the crock pot earlier in the week to make pulled pork, so I also added that and some brown rice and I was in HEAVEN. Never underestimate your ability to create delicious meals with just a little bit of creativity and patience.

 The Nice Guys

  • I’m probably late to the party with this one, similar to the brussel sprouts, but this movie was one of the best I’ve seen all year. I, like most people, fell in love with Russell Crowe many moons ago. Gladiator is one of my favorite movies and every time I hear “My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius…” I get so hyped. I feel like I don’t really need to explain why you would need to watch a movie with Ryan Gosling, because I mean its Ryan Gosling. This movie combines some great cameos, a mystery, and great comedy all in one. If you’re looking for something to watch this weekend, I can’t recommend this enough.

A Case of the Mondays

Oh hey guys. Hope you all made it through today with flying colors. I was still recovering from the 4 bottles of Cab we drank on Saturday night. Thanks Kelli and Jack, but also Spotify and Snapchat for supplying the soundtrack and proof of the evening. Solid gold.

How do we feel about the new site?! My friend Jacky D helped me not only register the site but the layout too! If you are ever looking for help with consulting check out his website. More updates to come so please stay tuned!

If you read my first post I talked about my Fall goals. So far, so good.

Thursday Thoughts

Everybody has their least favorite day of the week. While most are Mondays, mine has been and will always be Thursday. It just feels unnecessary to have one more day holding me back from the freedom that is THE WEEKEND. But then I realized there are also a lot of good things that happen on Thursday. TGIT just for starters which calls for wine, cheese, and take out. Thursday night also feels like you can get drunk and who cares, because most of the time nothing happens at work on Fridays (Unless you work somewhere extremely important then please disregard, only water or sparkling soda for you). Another way I can learn to appreciate Thursday? Create a post about it. So Thursday moving forward here will be known as Thursday Thoughts. Whether its books, health, food, family, whatevvver, you’ll find it here on Thursday.

Shall we?

Domingo, Dimanche, Sonntag

33018ae7dd29cf1390c5ffd32eeaa3daSunday in any language probably means somewhat of the same thing. Its the best day before the worst day that is….Monday (dun dun dun). Unless of course you are one of the lucky few not working on Mondays, in which case first brace yourself Tuesday is coming, and second can you please forward any job openings. I want to go to there.

I’ve traveled through many blogs over the past year and found that there really is a blog for anything and everything. From beauty tips and tricks, sports, fitness, food, DIY, organization, clothes, and so many other things the list grows every day. So I thought why not? Why not try it and see how it goes. Sure there are struggles, like not being all that tech savvy, as you will see, or the trolls that exist alllllll over the interwebs. But as I said why not?

So WELCOME TO THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH!! There’s that sarcasm I both know and love.

So lets get started. My first post, goals for Fall. The most basic season there is. At least in the northeast in the million pumpkin patches and apple orchards. Which just to be clear, I so badly want to go to every weekend.

  • Read more, TV less
    • I’m 100% one of those people that buys books with every intention of reading them. Then I notice that Modern Family episode that I’ve seen a millions times is on and suddenly, the book just kinda sits on the shelf…..forever. So to actually read these books, I’ve decided 30 minutes a day, I read. Otherwise its whenever I’m on an airplane which doesn’t happen that often.
  • Experiment with cooking
    • Do I love the staples? Sure. But I’ve become too comfortable eating the same things every week. So to get out of this I’m challenging myself to use different ingredients and recipes. Time to get out of my comfort zone, and hopefully not into a lot of burnt chicken and vegetables
  • Run a 10k
    • Running! So cliche I know but I find its kind of a way to escape everything else. Does it sometimes feel like it is medieval torture to go out for a run after a Friday work day? Absolutely, but working towards a 10k, gives me something to attain. If there is no light at the end of the tunnel, I completely avoid the tunnel and go get some ice cream. Or a beer. Whichever is closer
  • Starting a Blog
    • FINALLY! The reason we are all here! To start a blog and to put my thoughts into text and put them out there into the world. Currently there isn’t much direction, but I’m excited to see where it takes me. and you, if you’ll have me. 2016 has been full of exceptional lows and some highs, that hopefully over time I can share with you. If nothing else, it gets everything stuck up in my brain out and in the open.

So there are the goals for Fall. I figured start small and see where it takes me. Fingers crossed I accomplish them all.

Do you have any goals for Fall? How do you accomplish them?
